A complex programme.
A shared result.
AIR’s refit combined a class survey programme with mechanical and propulsion work, tank maintenance, interior improvements and a major exterior paint programme.
Mono worked on the owner’s side, supporting decisions and coordinating the interfaces between the yacht team, Akyacht and specialist contractors. The project required attention to the programme as a whole, alongside the detail of each workstream.
The project scope
- Coordination around class-survey requirements and associated works.
- Major mechanical servicing and propulsion-system work.
- Tank maintenance and interior improvements.
- A full superstructure paint programme and renewal of AIR’s distinctive matt-black hull coating.
- International specialist, procurement and yard interfaces.
How the teams worked together
Akyacht provided the yard infrastructure, technical resources and operational support. Pinmar came from Spain to carry out the specialist paintwork. Mono supported coordination with the owner’s team, yacht management, captains, engineers and crew.
Keeping those responsibilities connected was central to the project: decisions, access, specialist availability and progress all had to support the same programme.
What this project says about Mono
Our contribution was to help the right work happen in the right sequence, with clear communication between the people responsible. The scale of AIR makes that discipline visible, but the same approach matters on a smaller technical assignment.
